What is the problem we are trying to solve: The Challenge We Face
Nepal stands at a critical crossroads, grappling with a crisis that threatens its very future. Each day, approximately 3,000 young Nepalis leave their homeland in search of better opportunities abroad. Tragically, nearly 4-5 coffins return daily, bearing the bodies of those who did not survive the harsh conditions overseas. This stark reality forces us to confront a haunting question: Why are our youth choosing the probability of death over the possibility of hope in Nepal?
The root of this issue lies in the high unemployment rate, driving our young people to seek livelihoods elsewhere at great personal risk. Since the 2015 earthquake, Nepal has been plunged into a series of political and economic crises, further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and numerous national corruption scandals. These challenges have significantly eroded the country's economic stability.
This situation calls for urgent action. The dark clouds of despair have shrouded the mountains of hope in Nepal, and it is imperative for every Nepali, both at home and abroad, to take steps to improve the nation's prospects and create opportunities within our borders. Together, we can transform this crisis into an opportunity for renewal and growth, building a Nepal that retains its talented youth and offers them a future filled with promise.
