Daayitwa Enteprise Challenge 2015/2016, Ramechhap

The third Daayitwa Enterprise Challenge 2015/16 (DEC), Ramechhap, was organized by Daayitwa and our local collaborating partner YSP- Nepal on December 9, 2015.

Daayitwa Naya Ghar announced the top 40 entrepreneurs of DEC 2016, Ramechhap amid a felicitation program. The Chief Guest at the event Mr. Shesh Narayan Paudel, Chief District Officer, distinguished guests, Mr. Deepak Subedi (District Information Officer), Mr. Rishiraj Subedi (District Agricultural Development Office), Mr. Ramesh Dhungel (President- District Journalist Association), and representatives from other sectors were present at the felicitation program. More than 300 applicants had applied to DEC 2015/16, Ramechhap.

The top forty were selected based on the status of the enterprise and growth strategies, as well as the social impact of their business and their leadership role in the society.

On, April 20, 2016 the ‘Top 20 Entrepreneurs’ were announced amid a felicitation program where former Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology, Government of Nepal, Mr. Ganesh Shah was the Chief Guest. The top 20 entrepreneurs were selected through SMS and FB voting.

On April 27-29, a seven member panel jury conducted field visits to the top 20 entrepreneurs venture. Based on the scores of their field visits and presentations of the entrepreneurs on April 30, the jury selected the “Top 10 Entrepreneurs”.

The jury consisted of Ms. Rebina Mulmi Bajracharya, Member of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association Nepal, Mr. Ceaser Rana, Faculty member of Entrepreneurship at Kings College, Mr. Kanchan Kharel, Faculty member of Rural Economics at Thames College and President of YUWA, Mr. Rajendra Kumar Shrestha, Senior Industry Development Committee at The Department of Cottage and Small Industries Ramechhap, Mr. Himal Bhusal, Representative of Agricultural Development Office Ramechhap, Mr. Rajesh Yonzan, District Livestock Services Ramechhap, and Mr. Jit Bahadur Khadka, President of the District Agricultural Cooperative Association.

The top 10 entrepreneurs were handed certificates and a cheque of Rs 25 thousand by senior officials from the Department of Cottage and Small Industries, senior officials from the District Development Committee, Mr. Deepak Subedi, Ramechhap Development Committee Officer and Dr. Pukar Malla- Executive Director of Daayitwa.
