Daayitwa Enterprise Challenge 2015

The second Daayitwa Enterprise Challenge 2015 in Gulmi got application from agri-business entrepreneurs as well entrepreneurs involved in traditional craft and tools.

The second Daayitwa Enterprise Challenge 2015 in Gulmi got application from agri-business entrepreneurs as well entrepreneurs involved in traditional craft and tools.

The second Daayitwa Enterprise Challenge was launched in Gulmi district in 24th April, 2015 in collaboration with our local partner, Integrated Rural Development Society (IRDS), an NGO. Out of the 75 VDCs in Gulmi, Enterprise Challenge saw participation from 39 VDCs with a total of 231 applicants in the first round. From the diverse pool of applicants, top 40 entrepreneurs were evaluated and selected based on the competence of their written applications. On 23rd June, these top 40 entrepreneurs were announced and felicitated in a formal program in the presence of Daayitwa, IRDS and other stakeholders. Most of the selected entrepreneurs were involved in agribusiness.

The top 20 entrepreneurs were selected through SMS and Facebook voting. A total of 1027 SMS votes and 903 Facebook votes were received from inside Gulmi, different parts of Nepal as well as abroad.

The top 10 entrepreneurs were selected in November by a panel jury which consisted of representatives from reputed business schools in Kathmandu, local government authorities, Daayitwa Enterprise Challenge winner in Palpa РDurga Bahadur Khand, youth leaders, and Daayitwa representatives. Each of the top ten entrepreneurs will be receiving a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and will be mentored by our experts.
