Saurav Rana

Daayitwa Summer Fellow 2013

Saurav has been living in Washington D.C. for the last two years, initially as a graduate student at School of Advanced International Studies of the Johns Hopkins University, and then working for an energy consulting firm. He was born in Kathmandu but grew up and lived outside of Nepal for a large part of his life. Firstly, he was in England where he went to school and graduated from the University of Bristol. During the intervening years between my undergraduate and graduate studies he worked and lived in Nepal, Egypt and Italy. He gained experience of working on development projects in multilateral organizations as well as with small grassroots level NGOs. He has also worked at an academic research institute. Now he aims to leverage his skills and experience into practice in Nepal to facilitate greater private sector participation in development activities in Nepal.
