NATASHA KAFLE, having completed her B.A in Economics (Honors) from Christ University, Bangaloreis currently pursuing her M. A at the Department of Conflict, Peace and Development Studies (CPDS), Tribhuwan University, a choice that was led by her wish to understand the role of economics in the prevalence of conflict and to explorethe concept of “sustainable peace”. Her primary areas of interest are Human Security andCulture and Capitalism.
During her undergraduate years she was elected the Student Council Member for Center for Social Action (CSA), a university run movement and organization that works to entwine the student community with the grassroots of India. She was an active volunteer for3 yearsand a Student Leader at the Activity Center for a year, where she primarily worked with the slum children of Bangalore.She has also conducted a study on thefemale SHG members of theChild Focus Community Development Programme, Hoskote.
She began her professional experience as an Editorial Assistant atwhat was then called ‘Today’s Youth Asia’ a mark of youth journalism. She has interned atHimalSouthasian and Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS), volunteered at Institute of Suitable Actions for Prosperity (ISAP), and worked as an Academic Assistant at South Asia School of Rural Reconstruction (SARR).
